mOVEMENT AND MINDFULNESS CHANGED THE WAY I EXPERIENCE LIFE

Movement wasn’t always a big part of my life. For a long time, exercise was something I did occasionally, rather than something I saw as an important part of my overall wellbeing.

That changed when I began exploring Pilates, exercise, yoga and mindfulness more deeply. I started to notice a real difference in how I felt physically and mentally. I became more away of my body, more present in everyday life, and more confident in my ability to handle challenges.

This journey began during a difficult period where I experienced anxiety and panic attacks. While it was a challenging time, it also led me to learn more about myself, the mind-body connection, and how we respond to stress. Through this experience, I discovered how powerful movement and mindfulness can be as a tool for supporting both physical and mental wellbeing.

I realised that I wanted to spend my life helping other people feel better in themselves, whether that means becoming stronger, feeling more confident, finding moments of calm, or creating more space to look after themselves.

MY APPROACH

Move with Catriona is built around the belief that movement is about much more than just exercise.

Pilates is currently at the heart of what I teach, focusing on building strength, improving mobility and developing a better awareness of your body. However, you may notice a slight mindfulness edge to my classes already, as over time I plan to expand into a more holistic approach incorporating yoga, meditation, mindfulness, and other wellbeing practices.

My approach is holistic, but grounded. I give unrealistic promises or quick fixes. Instead, I believe in using practical tools that are supported by science and personal experience, to help you understand your body, manage stress and build habits that support you long term.

These practices aren’t only useful when life feels difficult. They are valuable tools to have throughout life, helping us build resilience and create a stronger foundation for when challenges naturally come our way.

more than just a class

I don’t want Move with Catriona to feel like something you simply attend once a week and forget about afterwards. I want to create a supportive relationship with the people I work with – understanding your goals, getting to know you as an individual, and helping you build movement and wellbeing practices that genuinely fit into your life.

While movement and mindfulness is not a replacement for professional support when it’s needed, I believe having a supportive person in your corner, who understands your goals and encourages you along the way, can be a valuable part of your wellbeing journey.
